Creation of Middle East

Summary - During WWI, the Ottoman Empire which had sided with the Central Powers ruled over vast lands in the Middle East. The Treaty of Versailles gave Great Britain and France control over the region which proceeded to carve out nations that make up Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Iraq. Eventually the Balfour Deceleration would help establish the Jewish state of Israel in Palestine. Blog Assignment - Choose a current conflict in Iraq, Israel/Palestine, Jordan, Syria or Lebanon and discuss how its problems trace back to the end of WWI. Propose a diplomatic (non-violent) solution to solve the problem (example: creating a Palestinian state in Israel along specified boundaries...)

A major topic going on today is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After the horrors of the holocaust, people felt Jews should have their own homeland. Britian seeing how much they suffered promised them a homeland post World War II. Another reason was their sacred land was where Jesus was. Also it was their land previously so britain thought they should get it back. This land was taken from Arabics living in palestine and given to the Jews. The Arabs living their were angered and conflicts emerged because they felt they should not give land to the Jews because of what happened. A smart resolution is to give all the area around jerusalem to jews so they can live there. Another idea is to split the area in half and have the two groups take sides. If this fails then both groups should unite and make a country for themselves to ive in. If this works then everybody could live peacefully, and end the conflicts. That is how this conflict can be solved.

Czarist Russia

In Russia during the time the csars ruled, the nobility was the highest class in society. They live a luxurious and exstravegant life. Their loads of land came with almost 1 million slaves. They also owned plenty of other places. The Nobles did plenty with their time to to. They would hunt, fence, gamble. They also played cards and billiards. Csars the richest of nobles did anything they wished with their money. The noble also held very little political power over the Czars. The only problems the nobles worried about were falling into debt and paying the serfs for farming. The Tsar's biggest event was the grand ball that they held. This ball very expensive but at the same time elegant. The nobles would be against any idea of Revolution. One reason is they would have to pays serfs more and give them land for farming. Another would be is that they would lose their social status as a noble. that is what nobility was like in Russia.

Imperialism Motives

Imperialism is the goal of conquest of a foreign nation to increase economic and political power. Breat Britain adopted new imperialism to acquire foreign territories and establish racial superiority. Imperialism also had a great effect on countries. After the Boer War Britian had to change their foreign policy and look for more allies. It also effected the Africans because they once were freee then became slaves. There were also motives to imperialism. One was to get raw resources like diamonds from Africa. Europeans thought they were "superior" to other ethnic groups around the world in the 18 and 1900's. Alos there was the desire of power. That is what Imperialism was all about.

French Revo

Summary - The French Revolution is defined as the political upheaval of world importance that began in France in 1789. Inspired by the success of the American Revolution, French citizens overthrew the noble, ruling class and establish a democratic government. The French monarchy under Louis XVI was viewed as oppressive and corrupt and the social structure was rigid, meaning it did not allow for social mobility which eventually forced the people to demand change.

Yes the french Revolution was a sucess because overthrew an unjust government but also inspired other countries to rebel against their rulers like the Latin Americans

Industrial Revolution

This revolution began in Britian because it was very centralized and most modern part of Europe.

Napolean

Summary - Napoleon Bonaparte was a powerful force in Europe from 1799 to 1815. He rose from the ranks of the French army to become the emperor of France. By 1812 he had control of most of Europe. Unfortunately, he met his demise when he attempted to invade Russia. His downfall was almost as swift as his rise to power.

Napoleans decieving intelligent persona allowed him to almost singlehandidly conquer the entire eastern hemisphere. First he sold off or ignored all French owned land in the east. Second he never let anybody know if he lost a battle. Last he respected the enemies he beat so they would join his army. That is why Napolean was a great influence on Europe.
